Alles andere als scheu begibt sich Bernard mit seiner Gitarre nicht nur bei Instru-mentalstuecken in die Zuschauermenge - das Publikum hautnah die pulsierende Energie seines Multitalents spühren zu lassen.


Auch in der Pause oder nach dem Konzertende sucht er haeufig den Kontakt zu jedem Einzelnen. Ganz im Gegensatz zu seinen Bandmitgliedern, die - jeder ein Mann von Fach! - doch eher etwas bescheidener agieren und ihren Auftritt dann haben, wenn es um ihre Soli geht.

So zelebriert Jassen Wilbur einen Basslauf, wie ich ihn noch nie erlebt habe, Andrew (“BLAZE”) Tomas aus Chicago (seit 2004 dabei) drischt mit seinen kräftigen Armen auf Drums und Becken - Rhythmus und Tempi wechselnd, ohne jemals das Grundthema zu verlieren. Und Mike Vlahakis, frueher schon treuer Begleiter von Luther Allison, entlockt seinem keyboard einfach alles, was das Teil an Options ueberhaupt imstande ist von sich zu geben ... Mike hat sich Ende 2006 vollends seinem Studio gewidmet und wurde abgelöst durch Rusty Hall.



Nicht unerwaehnt lassen moechte ich den Mann im Hintergrund. Lollo, der Gitarrentechniker: im Stillen eine hilfreiche Hand, am Schlagzeug ein Hammer on drums! Bei der April/Mai Tour 2002 musste man Lollo jedoch vermissen. Dafür kam Jake - als youngster der Gruppe von Bernard liebevoll als Baby Jake tituliert. Und so jung er auch sein mag, sein “The Sky Is Crying” ist professionell gesungen und auf einer der vielen B.A. Gitarren beeindruckend cool gespielt. Mittlerweile spielt Jaky bei Renee Austin als Leadgitarrist und man muss ihn bei der BA Tour seit 2004 vermissen.



Wie Lollo kommen nun abwechselnd zwei weitere guitar techs aus Paris mit auf Tour: Stephan und Thierry - seit 2006 Michi aus München, ein junger, studierter Musiker, der es krachen lässt, wenn er auf der Bühne BA's "Milky Way" beharken darf ...

He loves to come into contact with the people! And so he joins the audience coming down from stage, playing his guitar and walking through the crowed. Or he takes the chance for a small talk coming down to the people in the pause or after his gig.

In opposite to that behavior his band members are a little bit more reserved, but on their instrumental solo they have their absolute coming out!
Jassen Wilbur celebrates finger acrobatic I never have seen and heard before, Andrew ("Blaze") Thomas from Chicago (with BA since fall 2004) hits his drums, changing rhythm and speed without loosing the basic point, and Mike Vlahakis, who accompagnied Bernard´s father Luther Allison, draws everything out of his keybord what´s possible but not imaginable. End of 2006 Mike was substituted by Rusty Hall, who also is a specialist in screwing keyboards ...

Lollo, the guitar technical assistant, is a silent helping hand in the background but can be a hammer on drums! Since April 2002 he temporary is replaced by Jake. Because he is the youngster of the group, Bernard named him Baby Jake. And so young as he might be, his version of “The Sky Is Crying” he use to sing is an absolut professional way and he squeezes the blue Fender very cool & perfect. In the meantime Baby Jake was “promoted” to the leadguitar of Renee Austin´s Band and you will miss him on the BA Tour since 2004.

Thierry and Stephan, both from Paris like Lollo, do support BA on his european gigs from time to time instead of Lollo - since 2006 is Michi from Munich guitar tech. who loves to screw BA's "Milky Way" sometimes at the end of the show ...
